The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada thinks it is unnecessary to hold a referendum on Ukraine’s foreign policy course, particularly its accession to the Customs Union.
Making a speech at the meeting of the Coordination and Advisory Council on Local Self- Government in Rivne City during his work visit to Rivne Oblast, Volodymyr Rybak claimed “There is no need to hold a referendum. We do not accede to anything, we sign agreements.”
The Chairman of the Parliament stressed that EU member-states also signed respective agreements once and some of them became EU members ten or even more years after that.
Volodymyr Rybak claimed that Ukraine has to continue developing friendly relations with the Russian Federation which is our strategic partner. According to him, it is vital to work with both EU market and the Customs Union market on mutually beneficial conditions.
